With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality steel fabrication solutions, we are looking for a Workshop Assistant / Goods In Operative to join a fantastic, hardworking team. The Role As a Workshop Assistant / Goods In Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our workshop and materials handling. You will be responsible for assisting in the workshop manager and logistics manager, managing goods inwards, and ensuring materials and equipment are correctly stored, recorded, and distributed to production areas efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Receiving, checking, and recording incoming goods and materials. Unloading deliveries and ensuring stock is correctly stored and organized. Assisting in the workshop with general duties, including cutting, drilling, and assembling steelworks. Maintaining accurate records of stock and inventory. Ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized workshop environment. Liaising with suppliers and delivery personnel to manage incoming stock. Operating lifting equipment such as forklifts (if licensed) to move heavy materials. Assisting fabricators and welders with tasks as required. Requirements: Previous experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment (preferably steel or metalwork). Knowledge of handling steel materials and understanding of goods-in procedures. Physically fit and capable of handling heavy materials. A keen eye for detail and ability to follow health & safety procedures. Forklift license (preferred but not essential). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. What We Offer: Salary up to £40,000 (dependent on experience).
