Job Description Software Engineer Full-time Derby / Bristol / Inchinnan – Hybrid (3 days on-site) What you will be doing Our Critical Parts Lifing team operates in an extremely exciting space ensuring we help maximise our products time on wing and continued safe operation. As a Software Engineer (CDF1) in the Critical Parts Lifing (CPL) team, you will be responsible for capturing software requirements, developing and/or supervising the development, validation, deployment and continuous maintenance of appropriate software solutions to meet our requirements. Responsibilities In this role, you will be: Collaborating with the Critical Parts Lifing team to determine software requirements based on new and pre-existing practices and methodologies. Classifying the criticality of solutions and ensuring they meet the appropriate code quality and industry standards. You will develop and document software (mostly Python-based) that meet those requirements, and support the deployment, testing, and continued maintenance of this software throughout its lifecycle. Identifying opportunities within CPL to optimise and innovate existing engineering processes transforming them into modern software architectures within the current application ecosystem. Delivering against programme milestones, and ensuring adherence to agreed-upon cost, timeline, and quality requirements. Acting as a point of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other functions and/or suppliers. Why Rolls-Royce? Curious and self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering projects i.e. able to capture requirements, manage stakeholders and experience in planning software development cycles. A solid understanding of mechanical integrity, especially fatigue analysis. Familiarity with statistical methods, engineering mathematics, machine learning. Experience with desktop or web UI/UX/HMI in distributed and/or High-Performance Computing methodologies or microservice architecture (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS).
