We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to ensure safe, on-time train departures and provide top-notch customer support at the station. If you're a self-starter with great communication skills and a can-do attitude, this could be the perfect role for you!
What You'll Do?
* Provide outstanding customer service and assistance.
* Ensure safe and timely train dispatch.
* Provide helpful information and assistance to customers.
* Prioritize the safety of customers, colleagues, and visitors.
* Keep the station clean and secure.
* Collaborate with teams to provide real-time information during disruptions.
* Enhance customer security through your strong visibility within the station.
What We're Looking For?
* Strong team player, able to work independently.
* Excellent communication and basic numeracy skills.
* Computer literate and comfortable using apps.
About the location?
Cheltenham Spa sits a 5 minute drive away from Cheltenham Town Centre and has recently undergone a huge transformation to the car park which has bought more car park spaces. Cheltenham Hospital and the Racecourse are just a short drive away from the station. Cheltenham sees several Cross Country services to Birmingham and the North every hour as well as hourly services to Paddington, Bristol and Cardiff.
Working Pattern?
You will need to be able to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts start as early as 05:00hrs and some shifts can finish as late as 01:00hrs, therefore you must be able to travel to and from the station before and after public transport is available.
Additional Information?
* Although your work location will be Cheltenham, you'll be part of the South Cotswolds team which includes Gloucester, Stonehouse, Stroud and Kemble.
* This is a talent pool vacancy aimed to fill upcoming vacancies.
* Interviews for shortlisted candidates are tentatively scheduled for the week commencing 12 May 2025
What to Expect?
* After submitting your application, you'll complete an online assessment (recommended on a laptop/computer).
* Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a competency-based interview.
* Successful applicants will need to pass a medical assessment, including a colour vision test and drug and alcohol screening, as well as a Basic DBS check.
* Full training will be provided, including a 3-week training programme in Swindon.
