Due to continual growth, we are looking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established company, who are opening a new office based in the York area.

The Duties
1. Managing multiple projects and engaging directly with clients to develop their design concepts and remits from cradle to grave.
2. Establishing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as the company’s clients.
3. Involved in client and project meetings.
4. Preparing concept plans, briefs for projects as well as regular use of design and drawing software.
5. Reviewing designs and liaising with others within the design team to ensure reports produced support concepts in relation to industry standard best practices.
6. Reporting to lead on progress and project-related items.
7. Providing technical support to company electricians and sub-contractors.
8. Producing technical documentation and reports.
9. Creating test procedures.
10. Producing engineering deliverables on time and on budget.
11. Identifying and reporting changes to project scope specifications and programme.
12. Ensuring that Design Risk Assessments and Design Logs are prepared and monitored.
13. Ensuring programme adherence in accordance with the contract.
14. Producing discipline specifics for O&M Manuals.
The Requirements
1. Proficient in the use of Design packages such as Dialux, Relux, Hevacomp, Amtech.
2. Minimum HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering and/or demonstrable experience working within a similar role.
3. Electrical Design Experience with good knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guides, and all-round good practice.
4. Knowledge of LV Distribution systems, lighting and emergency lighting, small power, fire alarms and detection, protection, standby power supplies, and earthing.
5. A proven track record of design delivery of Electrical projects.
6. Experience across a range of industries and with various Electrical packages and general building services installations.
7. An enthusiastic approach with a determination to surpass our clients’ expectations.
8. Experience in producing calculations, analysis reports, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications, and other related documents.
9. High level of computer (IT) literacy.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Able to produce, format and manage Microsoft Office documents (Word & Excel).
The Package
1. £30,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience).
