Parkinson Lee are currently recruiting the role of Engineering Director – Change Leadership. Our client is seeking a visionary leader to take charge of the Engineering Strategy at our plant, acting as a catalyst for change and driving continuous improvement across all maintenance processes. As a strategic thinker with a focus on operational excellence, this role demands financial acumen to ensure cost efficiency and the implementation of performance-driven KPIs. The Engineering Director will define the Maintenance Service for the plant, leveraging their experience to lead multi-skilled maintenance teams and promote a culture of continuous improvement. You will be the driving force behind the transformation of our engineering function, delivering operational efficiencies and strategic improvements across various manufacturing processes. This leadership role requires you to mentor and guide teams across Process Controls, Instrumentation, Facility Management, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines, ensuring collaboration and alignment with plant goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead with vision, redefining the Maintenance Service and implementing strategic KPIs across key maintenance principles to drive operational efficiency and cost savings. Be accountable for establishing and executing the Engineering Strategy, ensuring alignment with Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost targets. Act as a hands-on, visible leader, mentoring and guiding multi-skilled teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Champion cultural transformation within the engineering function to ensure full support of the plant's objectives at all levels. Collaborate closely with the General Manager (GM) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to create and execute a Capital Expenditure (CapEx) plan that aligns with the plant's strategic needs, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Define and implement a flexible, efficient organizational structure that meets the evolving needs of the plant, and regularly review its effectiveness. Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and enhance the performance and efficiency of the engineering function. Drive measurable improvements in team performance, ensuring objectives and KPIs are consistently met. Oversee and enhance the plant's Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, ensuring machine availability is maximized, and unnecessary maintenance is minimized. Implement Condition Monitoring to reduce costs from secondary damage and extend equipment life. Manage consignment of critical spare parts to balance risk and cost effectively. Ensure the safety and compliance of the engineering team and contractors on site, adhering to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Engineering or a related field; HSE-related qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH) are highly desirable. Proven track record of delivering transformative change in a capital-intensive industry supplying into indsutry such as; Oil & Gas, Mining, Defence, SubSea Aerospace, Automotice, Power Generation, OEM. Over 10 years of leadership experience, managing diverse engineering teams and promoting a culture of operational excellence. Full budgetary control experience. Demonstrable experience leading large-scale capital projects from conception to completion. Practical engineering knowledge with the ability to understand and empathise with technical challenges and team concerns. Strong project management skills, consistently delivering within time and budget constraints.
