Main duties of the job
1. Assist in the validation of data used to measure the Trust's compliance with Referral to Treatment (RTT) national return, ensuring any errors are identified and rectified in accordance with Department of Health and Local guidelines.
2. Using data provided by the Information Department, trace patients on the Trust's Patient Administration (PAS) and Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems and validate clock start and stop times.
3. Using a set of established criteria, update PAS outcome fields for legacy patients to ensure they accurately reflect RTT wait times.
4. Support Trust staff to ensure admissions, discharges, and appointment data is recorded on PAS within 48 hours.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
1. To ensure that data is validated at all points on the patients pathway.
2. To review patient records and use information within to validate RTT /Non-RTT data extracted from the PAS system and provided by the Information Team.
3. To input data collected on outcome forms onto the PAS system within 48 hours.
4. Ensure that patient admissions and discharges are recorded accurately and in a timely manner on the PAS system.
5. To promptly report any identified data quality issues or potential wait time breaches to the Validation Team manager/ Team Lead/ Data quality Lead.
6. To liaise with relevant staff to obtain information needed to appropriately validate pathways in accordance with 18 week/26 Weeks RTT Clock Rules.
7. To support staff in their understanding and application of the 18-week/26 Week pathway and to act as a point of contact on any RTT related queries.
8. To work closely with the units, checking patient pathway details have been recorded accurately on our systems.
9. To support the Validation Team Leader/Manager in ensuring that all diagnostic and therapeutic elements of the pathway are captured and recorded.
10. To use and update multiple clinical information systems and databases to understand and track the patient pathways.
11. To collect additional data on an adhoc basis as required.
12. To plan and organise own work schedule with the use of appropriate planning aids, demonstrating good time management.
Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
* GCSE or equivalent as a minimum (to include Maths and English)
Experience
* Experience in an office environment. Use of computers.
Skills and Competencies
* Team player / able to work flexibly.
