Salary: £28'427 - £29'388 per annum (depending on experience & qualifications)
Start Date: April 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)
Are you a practical and organised individual with a passion for Design Technology? Vision for Education is seeking a Design Technology Technician to support a high-achieving secondary school in County Durham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and well-resourced Design & Technology department, providing essential technical support to staff and students.
The Role
As a Design Technology Technician, you will:
✅ Prepare, maintain, and organise materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons.
✅ Assist teachers in delivering engaging Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, and Engineering lessons.
✅ Ensure all health & safety regulations are followed within the workshop and classrooms.
✅ Provide technical support to students during practical tasks.
✅ Maintain and repair workshop machinery and tools as required.
✅ Support the smooth running of the department by managing stock and ordering supplies.
This role is ideal for experienced DT Technicians, graduates in a relevant field, or skilled individuals from a trades, engineering, or technical background looking to work in an educational setting.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Experience working in a workshop, technical, or educational environment.
✔ Knowledge of Design Technology equipment, tools, and materials.
✔ Understanding of health & safety regulations in a workshop setting.
✔ Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
✔ A team player who enjoys supporting young people and educators.
An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) is required for this role.
