Job summary You will work alongside Peer Support Workers (PSW) and Clinicians to achieve the best person-centered care with the patient for their recovery, whether that be joint working with other services to support them to make reasonable adjustments or PSW so patients can learn and practice skills. You will also work closely with mental health primary and secondary care, emergency services, partners agencies. The Sheffield and Barnsley Support Hubs offers free mental health support in a welcoming, comfortable, non-judgmental, and non-clinical environment. Our experienced colleagues are available to provide emotional, social and practical support to those who are in crisis or feel are heading toward a crisis situation. People can come just for a chat, or to access one-to-one emotional support. About the role: You will work with our experienced team to provide practical and emotional support, allowing you to connect with people and enabling them to build self-confidence, a sense of personal wellbeing, build their own networks and engage with their family, friends, and communities. About you To be successful in these roles, you will have experience or knowledge of autism and ADHD, or experience or knowledge of community mental health services, whether through lived experience or work. You will have experience of communicating with people who have difficulties with their mental health, or are having difficulties following a diagnosis, in a supportive and beneficial way and be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude. You will be able to demonstrate careful listening and a non-judgemental attitude working with people to understand their needs and aspirations.
