Location: Herefordshire | Hybrid with travel required
Accommodation Expense: £150/week | Business Mileage: 45p/mile
Are you an experienced Social Worker ready to make a meaningful impact?
Herefordshire Council is seeking two committed Social Workers to join our Assessment Team, where you’ll work directly with children and families to provide swift, child-focused interventions. You’ll assess needs, respond to referrals in a timely manner, and contribute to safeguarding efforts in a county known for its community spirit, strong team culture, and commitment to improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake high-quality assessments and investigations to inform timely decisions

Respond to referrals to ensure appropriate support for children and their families
*
Work collaboratively with partner agencies to develop robust safeguarding plans
*
Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports
*
Manage a complex caseload with confidence and clarity
*
Actively participate in reflective supervision and ongoing professional development

Requirements:
*
Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent)
*
Registered with Social Work England
*
Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience in statutory children’s services
*
Strong assessment, analysis, and communication skills
*
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes
