The working hours of the role will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5.15pm.

The role:
We are looking to recruit an experienced Paralegal to provide efficient support to the Conveyancing department in the Harpenden office.
Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Opening and managing files throughout the transaction
2. Obtaining title deeds, Land Registry title and plans
3. Obtaining searches and replies to property questionnaires
4. Checking post and dealing with matters arising
5. Progressing a transaction, keeping all parties up to date
6. Managing Sale files from start to finish
7. Preparing Completion Statements and completing transactions
8. Dealing with post completion of files
9. Managing all updates to lenders including LMS Stars and Lender Exchange Portals
10. Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and solicitors etc.
11. Closing files and managing residual balances promptly
12. Ensuring all client details are kept up to date
13. Scanning and copying
14. Full utilisation of the Case Management Systems
15. Using Land Registry Portal, SDLT, Word, Outlook and other computer packages as appropriate
16. Providing support to other fee earners within the department as and when required
The appropriate candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
1. Minimum of 2 years Conveyancing experience
2. Ability to work independently, as well as in conjunction with the rest of the department
3. Demonstrates persistence and commitment to completing tasks and objectives
4. Able to work at speed producing a high volume of work to a high standard
5. Excellent telephone manner
6. Multi-task in a busy environment
7. Ability to prioritise
8. Confident using case management systems with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word
9. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
10. Proactive and able to use initiative
11. A commitment to maintain high client care standards
12. Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritise effectively
