Based in Cumbernauld, ESS Recruit's client is part of a multi-national group that designs, manufactures, builds, and tests gas analysers and gas emission monitoring systems. Their equipment is found in various industrial settings and applications, including petrochem, FMCG, and hazardous engineering environments.
This Financial Planning and Analysis Lead role is responsible for assisting the Emerson Gas business' Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function globally. This role will assist in the preparation of commercial and operational analyses, including price, cost, working capital, capex, headcount, revenue, and new orders initiatives tracking, as well as preparing reporting packages used to communicate business performance to key management stakeholders. This role is expected to interact with senior-level management regarding actual and forecasted financial performance and drive performance improvements through engagement with the Gas business functions.
Responsibilities:
1. Support Finance Manager in calculation and monitoring of various outlook analytics (e.g., Revenue, Standard Margin, Other Cost of Sales, SG&A, Shippable Backlog, Book, and Bill).
2. Act as a business partner to the management team and work cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the business.
3. Coordinate and review quarterly forecast submissions from business sites and ensure plans are in place to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
4. Conduct Balance Sheet Reviews and ICQ Reviews.
5. Prepare monthly financials for submission to Financial Controller for review. Upload to HFM.
6. Support in the completion of Annual Operating Plan.
7. Participate in monthly and/or quarterly outlook calls with the business sites.
8. Improve reporting processes to enhance global team efficiency.
9. Track and review product pricing and cost development to ensure profitability targets are achieved.
10. Assist Finance leadership with special projects as needed.
11. Lead in audit, year-end, and internal control queries.
12. Analyze net sales/purchase exposure to foreign currency and maintain FX hedge.
13. Ensure accounting policies comply with relevant accounting standards and that Emerson CP&Ps are followed.
14. Develop and maintain systems and procedures to ensure efficient and effective management of the company’s finances in line with corporate objectives.
15. Submit monthly finance schedules to HFM liaising with Financial Controller.
16. Prepare schedules for external auditors liaising with other departments as required.
17. Liaise with external tax consultants on annual tax packs and R&D tax credit.
Qualifications: Ideally, you will be a Qualified Accountant of a recognized body with post-qualification experience, with a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related degree. You will have experience in leading management accounts and experience in financial planning and analysis.
