Schedule: 36 Hours (Day/Nights / Every Third Weekend/Rotating Holidays)
One of SEMC’s Medical-Surgical Units, CMP 7 is a 30-bed unit providing care for intermediate level medical-surgical telemetry patients. The patient population consists of a wide range of general medical and surgical diagnoses and conditions, including general surgery, orthopedics, vascular medicine, neurology, oncology, and complex medicine patients. CMP 7 is certified as a primary stroke unit. Prospective candidates for this unit must demonstrate cultural competence and professional integrity in the pursuit of optimal patient care and enjoy the variety of clinical experiences that the specialty of Medical Surgical Nursing provides.

CMP 7 is a fast-paced unit with a cohesive skilled nursing staff, and candidates will work with our educators to ensure a robust orientation and training with a preceptor to ensure that you are prepared to deliver optimal patient care.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
* Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
* Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
* Update and manage patient records.
* Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
* Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization.
* Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
* Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred), with the ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
* 1+ years of RN experience preferred. Newly licensed nurses are welcome to apply.
* Certification in basic life support (BLS) required.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
* National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate preferred and/or completed during orientation.
* Telemetry experience preferred.
* Oncology Nurse Society (ONS) chemotherapy immunotherapy provider card preferred; training and education will be offered as part of a plan for professional growth.
* Experience with electronic health records.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
* Basic computer proficiency.
* Fluency in another language a plus.
