Our client, an exclusive 5-star 18th-century country house hotel near Ascot, has a fantastic opportunity to recruit their Food and Beverage Operations Manager to lead a busy and talented team for the complete dining experience in a stunning 5-star hotel environment.
Responsibilities
As Food and Beverage Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting the Director of Food & Beverage in developing and delivering, upon approval, overall Food & Beverage strategy.
2. Pioneering Food & Beverage standards.
3. Delivering Food & Beverage quality standards KPI’s, ensuring the team consistently exceeds guest expectations.
4. Ensuring all aspects of Food & Beverage are consistent with brand guidelines.
5. Proactively working with only the very best Food & Beverage suppliers to ensure products are of the very highest quality.
6. Assisting in the recruitment, induction, retention, and development of the team in conjunction with HR policies.
7. Proactively working with all departments to understand issues and suggest solutions, driving continuous improvement.
8. Effectively communicating to all teams in the most effective way; team briefings, meetings, emails, noticeboards, and specific one-to-one catch-ups, always ensuring the message is clear, on-brand, and to the right audience.
9. Creating rotas and managing shift patterns in line with business levels, taking into account holidays and sickness, and ensuring accurate record-keeping on the relevant systems.
10. Attending weekly function meetings and daily hotel briefings.
11. Guaranteeing that the highest standard of service and product is delivered to our guests at all times and reviewing regularly.
12. Having a high level of presence within the department to lead by example through a ‘hands-on’ approach.
13. Being confident in communicating with guests to ensure that their expectations are met and exceeded by providing personalized service.
14. Aiming to achieve guest and team engagement targets in line with our scorecard.
15. Working closely with the Director of Events, Events Sales Team, and culinary team, ensuring communication throughout the department is streamlined.
Requirements
As Food and Beverage Operations Manager, you would ideally have:
1. Controlling costs and driving revenue according to budgeted targets.
2. Upholding the culinary and service philosophy of the restaurants.
3. Ensuring all SOPs are accurate and up to date.
4. Effectively and efficiently recruiting staff.
5. Motivating the team and instilling a culture of passion, creativity, and curiosity.
6. Showing flexibility and creativity in dealing with guests’ special requests or any challenges that may arise during the day.
Hours
5/7 days in line with the requirements of the role/hotel.
