Specialist Occupational Therapist, £40ph, Hull
Pertemps are recruiting for a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to work in the Early Help Adult Social Care Services (inclusive of Community See and Solve). The postholder will provide high quality occupational therapy practice and manage a caseload with a focus on supporting people facing multiple disadvantages presenting with complex problems including homelessness, substance misuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental ill health.
The role will work directly with the housing teams, rough sleepers’ team, mental health homelessness team and other adult social care services to plan, prepare and deliver bespoke services for people with complex needs.
Duties:
1. The post holder will use their core occupational therapy knowledge and skills in working with people with complex and multiple health conditions to support people during their journey.
2. To provide expert and effective Occupational Therapy which enables people to maintain or achieve optimum functional ability, personal, social and occupational functioning.
3. To undertake joint assessments and reviews as suitable.
4. To use solution focussed conversations and agree goals with people as part of a proportionate assessment process.
5. To deliver strengths-based, person-centred and solution focused interventions which respect the person as the expert in their life. They will have conversations enabling people to shape their own lives, identify their own goals and provide interventions to sustain their independence and wellbeing as part of a proportionate assessment process.
Requirements:
1. Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and have HCPC registration.
2. Completed Care Act, MCA DoLs and Human Rights Act training including Making Safeguarding Personal Safe guarding adults training.
3. Post graduate qualification in clinical supervision or professional practice education.
4. Extensive experience of working as an occupational therapist with people who have complex needs and require specialist support and interventions to enable them to live safe and wherever possible independent lives.
