Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust’s (CWPT) children’s services are reorganising, bringing together the four teams of: Children’s Neurodevelopmental, Community Learning Disabilities, Physical Health, and Mental Health into the one directorate. This will provide the opportunity of an enhanced experience and better outcomes for children, young people and their families which makes it an exciting time to join us!
Across the range of services we are meeting the clinical needs of children with increasingly complex needs in special schools, their own home and respite.
Our nursing teams are skill-mixed and integrated across settings. We are investing in advanced practice roles. Also within this portfolio is the Children in Care (CiC) nursing, School-aged Immunisation Service (SAIS) and the Community Children’s Learning Disability Service.
This post will work closely with the Head of Service for Children’s Physical Health Therapies, Heads of Nursing and AHPs, medical lead for Paediatrics. We are looking for someone who believes, when clinically appropriate, the community is the best place to provide care to children and young people, is keen to work collaboratively and share our vision of optimising clinical skills to provide excellent care to children and young people so they can lead their best life.
The focus of the post will be to provide strong operational leadership to a discrete portfolio of services. The post holder will be a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) managing the specialist service line and will be pivotal in ensuring that positive outcomes for patients and staff are achieved.
The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that services are delivered safely; to a high standard and within budget. There will be a need to be transformative and innovative as services expand and relationships across the system are developed to meet local needs
They will work with others to continuously improve services, ensure service user and carer experience is positive; services are responsive and accessible and transitions between services are smooth and seamless.
They will ensure that clinical governance mechanisms are in place, driven at a local level, ensuring lessons are learnt and experience informs ‘best practice’. This will include working with Safety & Quality colleagues to ensure that lessons are proactively learnt via the appropriate formal and informal processes, and that complaints and concerned are managed to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
