We are looking for an experienced Information Governance Officer to join our team for 12 months on a fixed term contract.
About the Role:
Your role will include working on enquiries and investigations through Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation, and Environmental Information Regulations. You will investigate Information Security Breaches, conduct internal reviews, Personal Data Audits, and work with colleagues across all council services on Data Protection Impact Assessments and giving advice and guidance. There are daily opportunities to work independently and collaboratively on a variety of projects and tasks.
About You:
You will be a self-starter who can take the initiative and have a strong work ethic, have excellent written and verbal communications skills, a good working knowledge of information governance, a strong customer service ethos and an understanding of current legislation in this area. You will be supportive, resilient and approachable.
This is a hands on role where you will lead by example ensuring that the Council is compliant with all applicable legislation whilst at the same time providing relevant information to customers within the appropriate timescales.
You will be supported in the role by a team of experienced and committed information governance professionals who will not only help on a day to day basis but will also support your continued development in this challenging and rewarding profession.
The post is based in the Information Governance and Customer Feedback Team with at times, the requirement to cross skill in supporting the Customer Feedback and complaints particularly where there is an information governance cross over.
