Job summary An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time radiographer with experience of both MRI and CT to join our dynamic, resilient team. Recently the Radiology department has replaced many of its modalities and dramatically increased in size allowing us to take on exciting and new opportunities. We carry out a wide range of MRI and CT examinations, including all routine scans and some specialised MRI techniques. The department is equipped with a new Canon Genesis CT scanner installed in July 2019, and has a new Siemens Altea 1.5T MRI scanner. We currently operate an extended day service, so the successful candidate would need to be able to take part in a rota which will include working from 8am until 6pm weekdays and weekends. There is currently no on-call requirement for cross sectional imaging. Main duties of the job To work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a high-quality diagnostic MRI and CT service whilst maintaining high standards of patient care. To undertake all MRI/CT procedures to a high standard and demonstrate a good level of skill and knowledge in all aspects of MRI and CT scanning. To work unaided after initial training and induction are completed. To run lists in both CT and MRI efficiently while displaying good patient care. To ensure that practice is carried out in accordance with both Trust and departmental policies and protocols. To participate in CPD and other developmental activities. To assist in the supervision of staff working in the MRI/CT unit. To maintain the highest standards of radiation and MRI safety. To participate in department research, clinical trials, and equipment testing. To participate in the Governance of the department in areas including Risk Management, Health and Safety, Infection Control and Audit activities. Participate in out of hours working when required. To undertake Fire bleep holder training. To work at all times within the limits of your professional capabilities upholding the HCPC standards of professional conduct. To undertake any task as required by senior management. To act as student link for MRI/CT.
