Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Educational Mental Health Practitioner to join our MHST South Team, based at the Acley Centre in Newton Aycliffe.
EMHPs have a key role as members of the Mental Health Support Team, who have the responsibility for delivering schools' overarching approach to providing mental health and well-being support for children and young people.
Main duties of the job
EMHPs have the responsibility for delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.
To support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
Work in effective, evidence-based partnership with children, young people, their families and their educators in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.

1. BSc Hons
2. Successful completion of a Health Education England commissioned 1 year Post Graduate Diploma (Educational Mental Health Practitioner).

3. Evidence of CPD in child and adolescent mental health and/or education

4. Ability carrying out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children
5. Ability to conduct group parenting programmes
6. Ability takes appropriate action to mitigate or manage risk.
