We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Lecturer in Carpentry to join our dynamic Department of Construction. This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver Plumbing courses to a diverse range of learners, in both practical and theoretical settings. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's development, provide tutorial support to students, and undertake administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching and assessment across Plumbing programmes.
2. Ensure all teaching aligns with awarding body requirements to promote student achievement.
3. Develop and maintain teaching materials, including handouts, assignments, and electronic resources.
4. Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
5. Carry out moderation, assessment, and verification processes.
6. Provide tutorial guidance, track student progress, and communicate feedback to learners, parents/guardians, and employers.
7. Maintain industrial links and pursue professional development within the Plumbing and Construction sector.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Industry experience in the Carpentry and Construction sector.
* A minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Carpentry.
* Ability to deliver inspirational teaching to learners of varying ages and abilities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Commitment to student success and development.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
Desirable:
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
* Experience in assessing and verifying vocational qualifications.
* Familiarity with integrating core skills such as Maths and English into vocational learning.
