Job Vacancy: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children facing challenges in their educational journey? Axcis Education are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA), on behalf of a large SEND school located in the Halton (Runcorn) area, to provide exceptional one-on-one tuition sessions to students across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4. Role Overview: As a SEND TA focused on behaviour support, you will play a crucial role in supporting and guiding teenagers in their academic pursuits. This position involves working closely with students who require additional assistance due to behavioural challenges, ensuring they receive tailored support to excel academically and socially. Responsibilities: Conducting one-to-one tuition sessions with students, addressing their specific educational needs and behavioural challenges. Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement during sessions. Collaborating with teaching staff and SENCO to develop personalized learning plans for individual students. Providing mentorship and acting as a positive role model for young people within the PRU. Supporting students in their academic progress and assisting with their integration into classroom activities. Maintaining accurate records of students' progress and behavioural developments. Requirements: Relevant experience working with children or teenagers in an educational or behavioural support capacity. Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young people. Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students facing behavioural difficulties. Relevant qualifications in education, counselling, or a related field would be advantageous.
