Job Description:
Project Manager Fire Alarm reports to the General Manager, senior project manager and is responsible for all aspects of projects including management of contractor sales, cost control on projects, project management, material preparation, work scheduling, and project breakdown. The Project Manager Fire Alarm will also assist with sales estimation.
1. Report to the Senior Project Manager and General Manager(s).
2. Lead a multidisciplined team dedicated to delivering highest standards, involving project and service work on time, within budget, and using best practices and standards.
3. Submission of verbal and written reports covering potentials for sales new and existing, any potential customer product, service or system needs.
4. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, schematics and operational/product manuals.
5. Establish contact and build relationships with clients, technicians, and subcontractors.
6. Manage the equipment, materials ordering and delivery process, project schedules, manpower and materials.
7. Prepare and track job costs to completion.
8. Attend staff, construction and engineering meetings.
9. Generate weekly reports of assigned projects, including status and manpower needs.
10. Perform other related duties, as necessary.
11. Some travel to sites and in office is expected.
Minimum Requirements
1. 5+ years experience in the fire alarm industry demonstrating progressive responsibilities with either a CFAA certification or electrical background with 309A or equivalent experience.
2. Ability to read drawings and do take offs.
3. Must be able to clear a government security clearance check. This is a requirement.
4. Understanding of the current fire alarm system technology.
5. Understanding of the Ontario and National Building, Fire Codes.
6. Experience in maintaining project documentation, including as-built drawings, change order pricing, RFPs.
7. Proficient computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and AutoCAD.
8. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written communication skills with experience in writing detailed technical reports.
9. Good understanding of general construction practices.
10. Must have a valid G driver’s license.
