The role
As a Survey Base Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing, interfacing, and testing the marine survey equipment for offshore projects. You will also coordinate and conduct workshop maintenance, repair and calibration of survey equipment and provide survey systems technical support and advice.
This is a full-time permanent position based in our workshop located in Welshpool.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare outgoing equipment in accordance with QA procedures, and prepare it for the pre-determined dispatch date, complete with required test documentation and calibration certificates
* Co-ordinate and conduct workshop maintenance, repair and calibration of survey equipment.
* As required, attendance at vessel mobilisations and demobilisations or ad hoc site/offshore deployments
* Ensure incoming equipment is inspected, tested and prepared for next deployment
* Repair and service MMA Subsea equipment to ensure optimum performance
* Act as visible safety leader in the workshop, warehouse and laydown areas
* Ensure hazardous materials are handled with care and stored in accordance with legislation
Qualifications
* Electronics field engineering certificate or degree qualified, and or prior training in a similar role
* C class driver’s licence
* Forklift licence
* First Aid course
* Portable appliance testing certified.
Essential Experience
* Proficiency around computer equipment both hardware and software
* Clear understanding of electronic / electrical circuitry and electronic / electrical principles
* Workshop/warehouse experience
Desirable Experience
* Offshore hydrographic experience
* Testing and interfacing survey sensors and equipment
* Hydrographic survey software experience (Qinsy, Evia, Starfix etc)
* Offshore project preparation from planning to completion
