Hours: Rotating Shifts / 06.00 - 14.30, 14.00 - 22.30 Monday - Friday, 22.00 - 06.30 Sunday - Thursday

You will need the following experience:
• Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 Minimum)
• City & Guilds 17th/18th Edition (ideally)
• Previous work experience within an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance position
• Previous food industry experience
• Experience working with Chillers, compressors, steam systems, PLC's, and Inverter motor controls, (ideally)
Your day-to-day duties will consist of:
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and machinery, including planned preventative maintenance, to ensure optimal functionality and minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults in both electrical and mechanical systems promptly to maintain production flow.
• Support production teams by providing basic training in machine setup, changeovers, and minor maintenance tasks.
• Manage and implement Operator Asset Care (OAC) programmes, ensuring team members have the skills to maintain their equipment.
• Drive Health and Safety initiatives by conducting regular audits, enforcing safety procedures, and investigating incidents to prevent future risks.
• Promote a safety-focused culture by attending weekly H&S meetings, reviewing systems of work, and ensuring risk assessments are current and comprehensive.
• Foster team motivation and professional development, mentoring new starters and supporting skill development for flexible working practices.
• Maintain quality and food safety standards, implementing hygiene procedures and conducting root cause analysis on equipment failures.
• Attend daily team meetings to review progress against scheduled work and ensure department goals are met.
• Monitor budgetary controls, reduce equipment breakdown time, and work with the Engineering Stores Administrator to manage critical spare parts.
• Support the Engineering Manager with new machinery installations and planned downtime for efficient cost control.
• Regularly review KPIs, including Right First Time (RFT), accident/incident rates, near misses, and training completion, ensuring targets are met.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, QMS, and regulatory standards, and participate in ongoing training as required.
In this role, you'll oversee and manage both electrical and mechanical maintenance across production lines and site areas, ensuring that Safety and Quality Standards are upheld and improved. Key responsibilities include fault finding, diagnostics, and planned maintenance. You'll also be expected to foster a proactive approach to reducing costs and losses while enhancing overall work efficiency.
