SEN Teaching Assistant - Buxton (SK17) - £100-£110 per day - Long-Term to Permanent - Immediate Start
We need a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Buxton. This role provides an excellent opportunity to support children with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with verbal and non-verbal autism, ensuring they receive the individualised care and assistance needed to thrive academically and socially.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist children in understanding and following teacher instructions.
- Work closely with the learning support department, offering tailored interventions.
- Monitor, track, and record pupil progress to support development and well-being.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with ADD, ADHD, and Autism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students.
- A flexible, patient, and proactive approach to working with children.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate, registered with the online update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Ability to provide two professional references covering the last two years.
