Clinical Counselling Psychologist - Development post
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust
Are you a psychologist looking for a role within a specialist community team delivering care wrapped around psychological interventions? The Worcestershire Complex Needs Service (CNS) is excited to recruit an enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (up to 1.0 WTE) who will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working with those with emotional and relational struggles.
CNS adopts a Structured Clinical Management framework and within this framework offers Dialectic Behavioural Therapy and Mentalization-Based Therapy. This is an opportunity to be part of advances in evidence-based treatment for those with complex personality difficulties. This is a developmental role advertised alongside a band 8a post. We will shortlist and interview both concurrently. We look forward to your application and welcome any enquiries for discussion.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be a senior clinician within CNS and an important part of the patients' journey. They will be assessing patients to co-produce an initial psychological formulation. This will help inform the delivery of psychological interventions that they will deliver directly (individually/groups) and/or support team members in doing so through regular supervision.
There will be opportunities to be part of the development of assistant psychologists in the team alongside providing guidance for the analysis of clinical data to help with the team's continued development of its treatment pathways.
The successful applicant will also be expected to undertake evidence-based specialist treatments (such as DBT and MBT) and this would be funded. The post holder will work up to (1.0 WTE) hours between Monday to Friday, during office hours excluding bank holidays, and will work from community bases.
