Business Support Administrator

The Business Support Administrator works as part of a business support team to deliver administrative and support activities, proactively managing workload, taking initiative, and using personal judgement to resolve internal and external customer issues. A strong working knowledge of the activities provided within a business centre and the processes required is essential to provide coaching and mentoring support to Business Support Assistants.
As a Business Support Administrator, you will split your time between supporting the digital strategy and digital inclusion workstreams within the Digital Essex team. You will work closely with the Digital Operations and Governance Officer, the Digital Inclusion Lead, and the Head of Digital Connectivity.
Key Role Responsibilities:
* Attending and supporting meetings by preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking actions.
* Managing the project calendar, scheduling meetings, and booking rooms.
* Supporting the preparation of reports and project packs for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Liaising with various local authority leaders, partners, and consultants.
* Inbox and calendar management.
Specific Responsibilities - Digital Strategy Support:
* Supporting the early stages of a large-scale digital strategy project involving public sector, private consultants, and academic institutions.
* Collaborating with stakeholders across public services (e.g., housing, highways, adult social care) to identify regional digital capabilities and develop problem statements.
* Ensuring project plans are maintained, and actions are completed on time.
* Preparing for strategic workshops and tracking the approval process with local authority leaders.
Specific Responsibilities - Digital Inclusion Support:
* Monitoring device applications for vulnerable individuals and communities and coordinating with the Digital Inclusion Lead to manage device stock.
* Ensuring disclaimers are completed and arranging collection or delivery of devices to support digital inclusion efforts.
* Monitoring project deliverables and updating the Communications Database.
* Supporting digital inclusion events and activities, including the management of devices and materials.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE), including Maths and English, with an NVQ Administration Level 2 or equivalent by experience.
* Evidence of the ability to develop skills and knowledge within the role.
* Ability to use computerised systems with a high level of speed and accuracy.
* Previous experience of managing electronic or hard copy filing systems.
* Ability to communicate in a manner which is easily understood and tailored to meet the needs of the audience.
* Experience in diary and inbox management.
* Good working knowledge of all MS Office, including Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
