Global Recruitment have an opportunity for a skilled and experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our clients team on a full-time basis. There is the opportunity to work on a range of interesting and challenging projects. Please note the main base for this role is Falkirk.
SALARY: DOE + uplift for site work.
OUTSIDE IR35 for limited company
Responsibilities And Duties
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques to be used.
* Setting up and operating welding equipment and tools, including TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
* Performing welding and fabrication tasks, such as cutting, bending, and forming metal, using a variety of hand and power tools.
* Inspecting and measuring finished products to ensure that they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
* Identifying and reporting any defects or deviations from specifications to Manufacturing.
* Attending client facilities/sites to carry out site installs as required.
* Following all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
* Keeping equipment and work areas clean and well-maintained.
* Collaborating with other members of the fabrication team to complete projects on schedule.
* Continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications / Experience
* A relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
* Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques and equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
* Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
* Strong attention to detail and quality control.
* Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety regulations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good physical condition, as the job requires performing repetitive motions and lifting heavy materials.
Desirable Qualifications
* Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
* Experienced in carrying out installs on clients' sites.
* Site-specific safety qualifications (i.e., Safety Passport, CSCS, etc.).
* Qualified and Experienced in the use of Forklifts.
* Experienced working within a fast-paced environment.
* A valid clean driving license is preferred.
