Role Overview We are looking for a Planning Engineer who will be working under the guidance of the Senior Planner, to support all forms of project planning and reporting across the business. Working through from tender phase to award of contract and subsequent project execution providing timely integrated Primavera planning information to stakeholders throughout. Identifying risks and opportunities within the schedule. Key Tasks Work in close collaboration with the project manager, project team members and other stakeholders (e.g. customer and sub-contractors.) Assist the Senior Planner in day-day planning and reporting activities. Develop, produce and maintain project plans project plans in Primavera (P6) Develop reports directly from Primavera and/or using other software to aid in its functionality and understanding. Record and coordinate relevant internal and external schedule interfaces, considering any contractual requirements in the schedule. Receiving and understanding of all project programme data and integrate all construction activities to highlight potential resource and workface clashes. Using Microsoft tools (Excel, word etc) to create planning outputs and documentation at the right level, for the right people, which must be understandable to its stakeholders. Identifying and communicating potential planning issues and risks to the Senior Planner or Project Manager. Identifying and communicating potential planning changes to the Senior Planner or Project Manager and help to provide potential mitigation plans. Work closely with Construction supervisors to help develop, progress and maintain plans. Review and understand fabrication drawings and project documentation. Review project processes and provide inputs and potential improvement opportunities. Provide support and produce estimates based on fabrication drawings and project documentation. Work to and comply to company procedures. Key Measures Projects are completed in a safe, effective and timely manner in line with contractual requirements. Excellent working relationships are developed and maintained with clients, colleagues and suppliers. Clear and concise schedules are created to assist in the delivery of projects. Clear and continual communication with project stakeholders in relation to project schedules and milestones. All output is to a high presentation standard for ease of use. Key Behaviours/Personal Attributes Excellent planning and organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong leadership skills Decisive thinker Enthusiasm Influencing skills Time Management Good team worker Sense of urgency Role Requirements Experience in fabrication/heavy industry preferred (but not essential) HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification Previous primavera (P6) planning experience IT literate including Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc Working Hours and Benefits 37.5 hrs per week working 0900 hrs 1700 hrs Monday-Thursday. Early finish at 1600 hrs every Friday (where hours worked prior). 25 days holiday plus statutory with the facility to buy or sell 5 days per annum Company sick pay based on service.
