Data Protection Manager
Location: ScottishPower HQ, Glasgow
Salary: £62-78K (Plus 15% bonus and single healthcare cover)

The Data Protection Manager ensures the Data Protection requirements are adequately met in the business including the ScottishPower Renewables Office, in line with the principles and requirements established in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and with the Global DP Framework, Information Classification policies, processes and corporate methodologies.
This person will be proactive in the protection of information assets across all areas of Onshore/ Offshore and SPR Offices, including protection from handling and processing by third parties.
What you’ll be doing
The Data Protection Manager represents the interface between Onshore / Offshore/ SPR Office, and the Local and Global Coordinators (Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and Legal Services).
Within this role, you’ll support business areas, proposing improvements to guarantee compliance, providing reporting and highlighting risks. You’ll be responsible for reviewing information security management system processes for Information classification, across onshore, offshore and SPR Office, considering Ofgem requirements under NIS Regulation for protecting critical information.
You’ll establish compliance for Data Protection in Procurement, and lead on Contract negotiations in relation to Data Protection, ensuring any necessary Data Protection Impact Assessments are completed, informing the risks arising and risk-mitigation recommendations.
Other aspects of the role include:
* Ensuring any necessary Legitimate Impact Assessments are conducted.
* Establishing mechanisms to comply with the international transfer procedure.
* Establishing the procedure for Data Protection by Design and by Default.
* Ensuring compliance with the Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) or other new legal requirements.
* Responding to DP incidents and DP breaches.
What we’re looking for
* Good knowledge of GDPR and information classification implementation.
* In-depth, expert technical knowledge of all aspects of Data Protection and associated delivery techniques.
* Experience of problem analysis in relation to data and information risk.
* The ability to research and interpret regulatory compliance requirements and apply to industry/business model.
* Ability to build effective relationships for key stakeholders locally, globally and with regulators.
* Ability to quickly analyse data, identify underlying issues and develop remediation programmes.
* Highly developed ability to resolve complex problems and negotiate successful outcomes.
