What's involved with this role: Temporary Licensing Officer Reference no: NNC (HQ) NNC19663 Pay rate: £19.87 per day PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: WELLINGBOROUGH Hybrid working – 2 days WFH, 3 days in Wellingborough Undertake licensing inspections to meet agreed targets, based on the principles of risk assessment. Key Responsibilities: Carry out the investigation of complaints relating to premises, vehicles, drivers and activities for which the service has a licensing responsibility. Liaise with other services, authorities and agencies to ensure joined up and effective delivery of the licensing enforcement service. Undertake licensing enforcement activities to include service of notices, preparation of prosecution files and reports to Licensing Panel/Sub-Committee. Present reports to Licensing Panel / Sub-Committee. Provide advice and expertise on licensing matters to businesses, the public and other services within the Authority Be a key player in ensuring that the service remains up to date, efficient and provides the best service to our customers through continuous improvement. Liaise with trade bodies and relevant organisations such as pubwatch and the licensed vehicle trade. Qualifications: A minimum of Grade C/level 4 GCSE, or equivalent, in Mathematics and English. Experience: Experience of providing excellent customer service. Experience working by following complex procedures with attention to detail and accuracy. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation. Skills & Abilities: Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision Ability to problem-solve. Confident in the use of ICT systems and ability to learn new systems.
