Responsibilities
as our Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery will include:
1. Deliver excellent quality teaching and learning to a range of students
2. Ensure that employability and employer engagement activities are embedded into the programmes
3. Support community/personal enrichment activities (including trips related to learning)
4. Preparation of schemes of learning, lesson plans, assignment schedules, learning materials for curriculum delivery
5. Actively promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety in all aspects of college life
6. Marking of students work with developmental feedback
7. Reporting student progress
8. Participation in curriculum development activities
9. Participation in the recruitment of students and the student admissions process
10. Representation of the College at internal and external events and meetings
11. Participation in all aspects of The Colleges quality process
12. Internal verification
13. Continually maintain, undertake and meet any relevant CPD requirements
14. Liaison with parents/guardians

As our Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery, you will need:
15. NVQ level 2 or Craft certificate in Carpentry & Joinery
16. Maths and English at Level 2 equivalent or willing to work towards
17. 1st fix, 2nd fix and cut roof/trusses
18. 5 years minimum industry experience in Carpentry and Joinery
19. Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in field(s) of expertise
20. Communication skills including written and verbal
21. Competent in Microsoft Office applications
22. Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
23. Attendance at college events ie open evenings including outside of normal working hours

30. Up to £3, one off incentive will be awarded based on achievement of the probation period (based on skills, experience and current salary a decision will be made at offer of the exact amount)

32. Candidate needs to be in post for 18 months following successful completion of probation otherwise full payback will be required
