About the Role:
The Procurement Assistant will be responsible for supporting the procurement team with the purchasing of electrical components, materials, and tools required for various projects. The role requires a strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in sourcing and procuring electrical products, tools, and materials for ongoing projects
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services
* Process and track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
* Maintain inventory records and track stock levels to prevent shortages
* Support supplier evaluation and on-boarding processes
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure procurement needs are met on time and within budget
* Monitor delivery schedules and follow up on any delays or discrepancies
* Provide administrative support to the procurement team as needed
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a procurement or administrative role (experience in electrical or construction-related industries is advantageous)
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work well both independently and within a team
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage)
* Knowledge of electrical products and industry-specific requirements
* Understanding of supply chain management principles and practices
