Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Children’s Home Deputy Manager to work full-time based in a Children’s home in South Croydon.
The salary for this permanent Children’s Home Deputy Manager job is up to £41,000.
Main Duties:
* To ensure that services and support are provided in a child-centred way, as part of the therapeutic community practice framework.
* To contribute to the overall development of the services and to ensure compliance with regulation.
* The promotion of the therapeutic community within the home, supporting both the children and staff members to invest in the community in the home.
* To assist with the safer recruitment of staff within the Home in conjunction with the Responsible Individual and Registered Manager where appropriate.
* To supervise staff in line with regulation and the home's SOP.
* To maintain the home's Statement of Purpose and always ensure the home functions in line with this.
* To contribute to individual staff development by way of their personal development plans, “in house” training programmes, and external training.
* To implement a rota system that ensures the most effective use of staff to always support the needs of the children.
* Actively promote and maintain a close working partnership with parents/carers and other significant people in the lives of children to promote their best interests and ensure positive outcomes.
* To ensure that staff are familiar with and adhere to the care plans as agreed for the children in the home.
* To ensure that guidelines for the administration and safe keeping of medication are made available to all members of staff and that these are adhered to.
* To deputise for the registered manager for aspects of day-to-day operational management of the home.
Requirements of this job:
* Level 5 Leadership and Management in Children’s Residential qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a supervisory role in Children’s residential care.
* Ability to show leadership skills.
* Experience of managing budgets.
* Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections.
