Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Children's Home Deputy Manager to work full time based in a Children's home in South Croydon.
The salary for this permanent Children's Home Deputy Manager job is up to £41,000.
Main Duties:
1. To ensure that services and support are provided in a child-centred way, as part of the therapeutic community practice framework.
2. To contribute to the overall development of the services, and to ensure compliance with regulation.
3. The promotion of the therapeutic community within the home, supporting both the children and staff members to invest in the community in the home.
4. To assist with the safer recruitment of staff within the Home in conjunction with the Responsible Individual and Registered Manager where appropriate.
5. To supervise staff in line with regulation and the home's SOP.
6. To maintain the home's Statement of Purpose and always ensure the home functions in line with this.
7. To contribute to individual staff development by way of their personal development plans, 'in house' training programmes, and external training.
8. To implement a rota system that ensures the most effective use of staff to always support the needs of the children.
9. Actively promote and maintain a close working partnership with parents/carers and other significant people in the lives of children, to promote their best interests and ensure positive outcomes.
10. To ensure that staff are familiar with and adhere to the care plans as agreed for the children in the home.
11. To ensure that guidelines for the administration and safe keeping of medication are made available to all members of staff and that these are adhered to.
12. To deputise for the registered manager for aspects of day-to-day operational management of the home.
Requirements of this job:
1. Level 5 Leadership and Management in Children's Residential qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this.
2. A minimum of 2 years' experience working within supervisory experience in Children's residential care.
3. Ability to show leadership skills.
4. Experience of managing budgets.
5. Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections.
