Director - Acoustics Location: Earley Salary: £55,000 DOE Our client is a multi-award-winning environmental & engineering consultancy who is looking for a Director to drive the development and expansion of their growing Acoustics Division. Their main services include Acoustics, Air Quality, M&E, Environmental Planning, Transport Planning, Civils & Infrastructure and more – this allows you, the new Director of Acoustics, to liaise with a variety of engineering & environmental stakeholders to ensure the prompt delivery of projects. The Role As Director, you will: Lead and grow the Acoustics Division by managing and expanding a team of acoustic consultants. Develop business opportunities and build strong client relationships across the built environment sector. Provide strategic input into project planning, ensuring acoustics services align with sustainability and environmental goals. Oversee technical delivery of noise and vibration assessments, environmental impact reports, and building acoustics consultancy. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including sustainability, MEP, and energy specialists, to integrate acoustic recommendations into building solutions. Ensure compliance with UK regulations, standards, and best practices in acoustics and noise control. Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.Candidate Requirements We’re looking for a driven and experienced Associate Director or Principal Acoustician looking for the next step-up in their career. You should have the following: Extensive experience in acoustics consultancy, including environmental noise, building acoustics, and vibration assessments. A proven track record in business development, team leadership, and project management. Relevant qualifications (Degree/Master’s in Acoustics, Engineering, or a related field). Full Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) (or equivalent). Strong commercial awareness, with experience preparing bids and winning work. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clients, stakeholders, and teams. Proficiency in acoustic modelling software, such as CadnaA, Odeon, or similar.Why Join?
