Salary – £20,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
Hours – ideally 23.5 to 39.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with hybrid working available
Holiday – 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per year up to a maximum of 28 days
About the Accounts Assistant role

We have an exciting role for an Accounts Assistant to work in our outsourcing team, based in our Farnham office; however, hybrid working is available following initial induction.
The role is to support the Outsourcing Senior in managing the bookkeeping process. It is not just a traditional processing role; it involves a lot of client contact and supporting the bookkeeping team with some hands-on bookkeeping when necessary.
Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant role are:
* Supporting the Outsourcing Senior in managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients as well as reconciliations of the main control accounts, including month-end reviews
* Reviewing client entries and advising of corrections or efficiency improvements
* Preparing, reviewing, and filing VAT returns for various VAT schemes
* Communicating directly with HMRC when necessary, undertaking general administration tasks
* Providing support to clients on various bookkeeping/accounts packages
* Visiting clients on an ad hoc basis to help resolve bookkeeping issues or take on projects with clients relating to bookkeeping
About you
The successful Accounts Assistant will have the following skills and experience:
* Minimum 1-2 years’ experience ideally within an accountancy practice
* AAT training
* Awareness of Xero software (preferably Xero certified) / Sage / Quickbooks
* Ability to work both independently, direct liaison with clients, as well as part of a team
* VAT experience and knowledge to prepare VAT returns
* Positive team player with a “can do” attitude
* Accurate data entry skills with excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with CCH would be advantageous
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Passionate about great service in order to provide a high level of client care
