Job summary Salters Medical Practice is looking for a qualified phlebotomist with commitment and passion to provide a first-class service to our patients and to work within our friendly clinical team. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, excellent time-management and the ability to work well under pressure as well as a qualification in phlebotomy. The hours worked would be between 08:30 and 16:00 but could be mutually agreed upon to suit both parties and we can offer a high degree of flexibility to suit a suitable candidate. Duties and responsibilities: Greet patient, introduce yourself and confirm the patients name and date of birth. Ensure that the patient is as comfortable and as relaxed as possible, fully explain the procedure and gain consent verbally to the collection of a blood sample. Collection of sample(s) of blood in accordance with training and procedures. Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers. Ensure accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity. Checking patient identification against request and confirming with patient whenever possible.
