The job itself
The Headteacher & Governing Board seek to appoint from March 2025, a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant with a minimum of a NVQ 2 Certificate in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent.
The successful candidate will work to support individual pupils and groups across the school in various year groups; this may change regularly to meet the needs of the pupils, and the successful candidate will therefore need to be flexible and willing to change at short notice. The role may also involve supporting the class teachers with the delivery of appropriate interventions. Experience of delivering phonics and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
The successful candidate will be able to provide a stable, calm, caring and supportive learning environment in which pupils can achieve. We require an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for supporting pupils with their education and social skills, able to work using their initiative and as part of a team to support our pupils' diverse range of needs. You should be experienced in dealing with pupil behaviour in a positive and nurturing manner. You should have excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to young people, their welfare, education and personal development. You will act as a role model to our pupils.
Hours: 8.45am - 3.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
