About the Role:
The role of Lead Regulatory Advisor sits within the Global Regulatory Team, which is part of the Global Governance Team. The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance of products manufactured within Global Supply and to identify new and changing regulations impacting our products.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Horizon Scanning: Lead horizon scanning for regulations impacting Diageo products for a specific region, determining risks and opportunities and delivery of action planning.
2. Lead and influence legislation to shape and support optimum outcomes for our brands and reputation.
3. Product Compliance Delivery: Lead the delivery of product compliance for both market of manufacture and market of sale for specific product categories and regions. Find opportunities for product compliance optimisation during Innovations, Renovations and Integrations.
4. Regulatory Compliance Management: Create and maintain regulatory position papers and guidelines. Review and maintain regulatory guidance documents, defining key requirements for all markets, collaborating with market legal & CR.
5. Regulatory Support: Provide regulatory expertise to Categories, Science & Technology and Margin Enhancement in support of the delivery of the Diageo Supply Chain & Procurement Strategy. Provide regulatory expertise to markets and production sites if issues or challenges arise.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a regulatory role within consumer goods industry.
2. Proficient in beverage food or alcohol laws and procedures, documentation requirements, labelling laws, and have a good understanding of beverage or alcohol manufacturing processes.
3. Technical degree or equivalent qualification (Food Science/Science/Engineering).
4. Proven track record of leading and delivering cross functionally across a regional, international or global environment.
5. Experience of assessing ingredients, recipes and labels against regulatory requirements.
6. Ability to assess complex and ambiguous information and create clear guidance for partners.
7. Self-starter with an ability to work independently and with remote and virtual teams.
8. Able to effectively communicate at all levels, both verbal and written, with internal team members, external government agencies, and 3rd Party vendors and customers.
9. Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
