Job summary This is a fixed term post in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with effect as soon as possible. The post offers senior registrars or post CCT fellow an opportunity to consolidate their training in benign gynaecology, benign surgery and acute gynaecology. The successful applicant will receive training in management of benign gynaecological conditions including medical surgical and psychological components of the disorders. The doctor will also be expected to maintain the local database and take part in research activity. In addition, he/she will be taking a leadership role in the management of the Acute Gynaecology Service and gain skills in gynaecology scanning. Obstetrics skills will be maintained by participation in the on-call rota. Main duties of the job General Responsibilities The duties under Consultant supervision include the following - Taking part in regular EPU Clinics with multidisciplinary team Coordinate and manage acute gynaecology pathway, including 'hot clinic' Perform and supervise surgical management of gynaecology emergencies Attending main theatre and day surgery and performing procedures under consultant supervision Manage the monthly MDT meetings Engage in research activities, either existing or candidates own research.
