We have an exciting role available to work for Gloucestershire Registration Service as a Registration Support Officer in our busy team. As a Registration Support Officer, you will be required to speak to and help members of the public over the phone with some face-to-face interaction. Our customers are dealing with life events which can affect them emotionally; therefore, excellent customer service skills are vital to ensure they are treated with care and professionalism. The role involves accurately taking complex and detailed bookings for ceremonies, births, and deaths and entering the information onto our bespoke booking system. The role will be based at our Cheltenham Register Office from Monday to Friday and the position is also required to participate in a weekend rota for ushering at some ceremonies held at our Register Offices (Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, and Cinderford) on Saturdays or Sundays/Bank Holidays. Training will be provided on all aspects of the role as well as mentoring support from your team members.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate interpersonal, administrative, and computer skills. A good ability to cope in a demanding environment with the flexibility and desire to provide the best possible service are the key attributes we need alongside team members who reflect our values of respect, integrity, and excellence. We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us, so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire's diverse communities. Our promise to you is that we will provide an inclusive and supportive working environment that enables you to bring your whole self to work and realise your full potential. It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a 'customer facing role' must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English. Hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of our roles, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of both remote and office working.
For all your hard work, you will receive the following:
* Agile working opportunities
* 25.5 days annual leave rising to 30.5 days after 5 years continuous service
* An option to purchase up to 5 days of additional leave per year (dependent on business need)
