The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Flight Operations Manager to be part of our team at our Aoraki Mt Cook base. Along with the Lead Pilot, you would provide leadership for our base operations, stakeholder management, and Health and Safety whilst being the friendly face providing our clients the best experience possible.
This role would need you, the Flight Operations Manager, to live within the McKenzie District.
As Flight Operations Manager at Aoraki Mt Cook, you will be a key and valued member of our Southern Lakes Helicopters team, reporting to the Lead Pilot and Management. You will have the full support of our Te Anau base behind you.
You must be flexible and prepared to work in the dynamic and ever-changing operational environment of our Aoraki Mt Cook operations and demonstrate a strong focus on customer service.

Minimum Requirements:
* New Zealand Citizen or permanent resident
* Clean full NZ driver’s license
* Physically fit
* Previous Managerial and Leadership experience in a similar role
* General Aviation experience or interest
* Knowledge and passion for the Aoraki Mt Cook area
What the role entails:
* Assist the Lead Pilot to guide, support, and lead the Aoraki Mt Cook team
* Welcoming clients and selling Southern Lakes Helicopters Aoraki Mt Cook experiences
* Managing client and agent bookings, cash handling, and invoicing
* Creative logistics planning and scheduling of flights
* Taking clients through our safety briefing, loading and unloading passengers and gear
* Pre-flight preparations, flight following, and radio calls
* General office duties to help keep the base organized and well prepared
* Assisting with Southern Lakes Helicopters sales and marketing initiatives
* Maintaining accurate daily and monthly operational records
* Working alongside our Te Anau base to collectively achieve our Company vision and goals

* Experience and aptitude with the ability to lead teams with a positive, proactive, and problem-solving attitude
* A team player with a collaborative nature
* Excellent planning, time management, organizational, and communication skills over multiple platforms
* Well-developed computer and IT skills including competency with Office365
* Someone with an eye for detail and ensuring completeness and accuracy in all aspects of the business (administration, customer service, follow-up tasking)
* Ability to think on your feet and adaptable to changing operational demands

The role does require flexibility due to weather changes and may have you working from home some days. We operate aircraft from Aoraki Mt Cook, 7 days a week and as such the roster will include public holidays and weekends.
