Electrical & Instrument Project Engineer Job description (contract) CAPEX project engineer (Instrument & electrical) Location: Edinburgh Job purpose This job role is to support Capex project management team in delivering instrument and electrical projects allotted to the Edinburgh site. Principal accountabilities - Execute a number of various small instrument and electrical based projects across the site such as lighting upgrades, fire system upgrades, instrument alterations. Taking ownership of the entire life cycle of the project from design through to installation and commissioning - Support construction management on large projects taking responsibility for management of contractors on electrical & instrumentation installations, ensuring installations meet design and specification.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with safety, cost and schedule targets - Ensure construction is carried out in line with CDM requirements - Ensure suitable permit to work and risk assessments are in place for the construction activities Scope - The scope of the role covers Capital Projects at Edinburgh - The role will cover projects for execution in the 0-6 months - The role involves a high degree of planning, organising and computer skills - The role involves excellent multi tasking and time management - This role will liaise with external contractors, internal contractors, and internal operational departments - The role will have budget responsibility for projects potentially up to £100k. Special factors - Working extended hours/ weekends as required under each project to ensure delivery during critical shutdown windows ? Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience (Technical/ professional knowledge and skills competency) Experience and track record of delivering instrument and electrical projects Essential Experience of permit to work systems (including high energy, confined space and lifting) Essential Experience of project budget control and reporting Essential CDM 2015 experience Essential NEBOSH or other safety qualification preferred Previous pharma or GMP background Preferred Working knowledge of ATEX and hazardous areas Essential Personal skills and key competencies (including JM behavioural competencies) Good written, verbal communication skills Essential Planning skills Essential Computer literacy skills (word, OneNote, PowerPoint, excel) Essential Comfortable dealing with external and internal contractors Essential
