We are part of a DfE funded pilot to help recruit to our Early Years workforce, and for candidates that are new to Early Years or returners who have not worked in an Early Years setting in the last 6 months could be eligible for a £1000 payment. Salford’s fantastic local authority nurseries are looking for competent, resilient patient and dedicated early years practitioners. We pride ourselves on looking after our staff and children. We offer a range of hours and these may vary depending upon location, but we do ask that you are available to work between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Our nursery is based in Higher Broughton.
We are looking for staff who meet the following criteria:
* Have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
* Have the ability to laugh at jokes, even those that you may not find funny
* Be able to be the best at everything you do, for example if you are asked to be a pirate, you will be the best!
* Be able to sing out of tune and in front of a crowd of eager people
* Be prepared to convincingly pretend to eat playdough
* Be content in the fact that our only cup of tea all morning might be a pretend one
* Have the ability to read a story, with many different voices
* You must be prepared to have lots of fun during the day. Lots of laughter is a guaranteed outcome
* You must be up for a challenge and able to work in a fast-paced environment where no day is the same
* You need to be resilient, hardworking and a good team player who can build positive relationships with children and families from a wide range of backgrounds
* You must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. There is no other job quite like this one!

You will be expected to promote an inclusive environment that is warm, welcoming and stimulating in order to encourage the development of children to ensure they reach their full potential. You will Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage and contribute to development of plans to support the delivery of individual learning programmes for children. You will receive hands on experience and your own skills and experience will be a valuable asset to the team.
We do ask that you have a relevant Early Years Qualification at a minimum of Level 3. We will consider level 2 applicants, should you be willing to complete your Level 3 qualification through an apprenticeship route.

About your development

You will receive a full and comprehensive induction across all our sites along with access to the Starting Life Well training programme through which you will be supported to achieve a Paediatric First Aid Qualification within three months of starting with us.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
