Bilfinger UK are currently recruiting for an Assistant HSEQ Advisor to support our NDT operations on Hinkley Point. This role offers an exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity to be an integral part of Bilfinger UK's growing HSEQ team on Hinkley Point C, contributing to the future of the UK's nuclear new build sector.
Main Purpose
This is a development role for someone with a NEBOSH HSE certificate or working towards attaining and wishing to embark on a career as a HSEQ advisor. The role will provide an opportunity to work alongside experienced HSEQ professionals on the largest construction site in Europe.
The position holder is employed to ensure that Bilfinger UK Limited maintains and surpasses the necessary company, industry and national standards for successful management of HSEQ matters. To develop within the Company the appropriate knowledge, understanding and attitude towards HSEQ matters to facilitate continuous improvement. To promote the external image of the Company through effective HSEQ management. To provide HSE support to the Management and Operations teams as directed by the HSEQ Manager.
Main responsibilities
1. Responsible for the provision of clear and consistent HSEQ information, advice, guidance, monitoring and support to all contracts and site based activities.
2. Ensuring HSEQ standards are established before and during contract execution, and are maintained and developed to deliver both statutory and non-statutory obligations.
3. Providing a robust advisory service to managers and supervisors on the development and leadership of HSEQ culture.
4. Proactively monitor, measure and report on HSEQ performance following company and customer policy and procedure.
5. Act as company's HSEQ representative at contractor and customer meetings.
6. Participate in Accident Investigations and participate as a member of appointed Investigation Teams.
7. To ensure that actions arising from incidents investigations, sites visits and audits are captured on the appropriate company systems to enable actions to be tracked to closure.
8. Advise project team on all HSEQ related matters.
9. Review, and update existing HSEQ procedures as legislative, or best practice changes occur.
10. Give guidance and advice on matters relating to HSEQ systems and initiatives within Bilfinger UK Limited.
11. Assist in developing, promoting and monitoring compliance with HSEQ performance indicators.
12. Develop and upgrade the HSEQ culture throughout the company.
13. Deliver HSEQ Training as required.
14. Develop HSEQ Initiatives.
15. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the position holder is required to perform other duties as may arise in connection with the successful operation of the Company or assigned by the HSEQ Manager / Project Manager.
16. Develop project interface documents and HSEQ Plans.
17. Collate, maintain and share with relevant Mobilisation Focal Point occupational health information pertaining occupational health information.
18. Undertake any monitoring and testing which you have been trained in.
19. Propose remediation measures to ensure a safe and quality service.
Experience & Qualifications
1. NEBOSH HSE Certificate or working towards
2. Excellent communication skills
3. Ability to work in a team
4. CCNSG Safety Passport - Desirable, if not will be provided to successful applicant
5. Previously worked on a construction/nuclear Site - Desirable
6. Attending additional onsite training to support the role
