A position for a Customs Compliance Lead has become available at DSV, location TBC.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To assist the Customs Compliance Managers in supporting all 3 divisions (Road, Air & Sea and Solutions) within DSV in all levels of customs activity. The Customs Compliance Lead will supervise security access to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors. The candidate will be driving a high level of customs compliance and ensuring that all DSV custom compliance policies are adhered to.
KEY TASKS
1. Completion of customs compliance audit activity and provide feedback to the 3 DSV divisions.
2. Arranging clearance of goods into the UK as appropriate – issuing full customs clearance instructions to the agent (including Commercial Couriers) to allow for the goods' timely clearance into the UK and where necessary, authorizing payment/suspension of applicable duties/taxes.
3. Providing technical customs support across the 3 DSV divisions with preference, Customs Warehousing and Special Procedures.
4. Key responsible person for management and issuance of security access cards, including the onboarding of new DSV sites.
5. Managing user access for customs software and Government Gateway.
6. Approve requests to use DSVs Excise Movement Guarantee.
7. Ensuring that, where required, any import and/or export permits/licences are in place to allow for the smooth movement of goods into and out of the UK.
8. Maintaining all supporting customs documentation for import and export consignments, completing all relevant HMRC returns, where required.
9. Assisting with all relevant HMRC, HM Government and corporate/internal audits as required.
10. Provision of customs internal training to the DSV divisions.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Proven experience in a Trade Compliance, Customs Compliance or freight forwarding, logistics, import/export orientated role.
2. Knowledge of Customs regulations (desirable).
3. Experience in customs entries (essential).
4. Customs Warehouse experience (desirable).
5. Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
6. Ability to work under tight deadlines and KPIs.
7. Willingness to learn.
8. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
