Overview of the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a standalone Senior Accountant within our UK business. This is a new role, created to support the growth of IP House UK, part of a newly created global organisation, providing a single source to companies, protecting their intellectual property and taking a proactive stance to enforcement, anywhere in the world.
This is the first finance role based in the UK and you will have the opportunity to shape the function and work closely with our US based Finance team. Consequently, you must have strong generalist skills, with the confidence and experience to see what needs to be done and get it done.
The role reports into the UK senior management team, with functional reporting into the US-based Financial Controller
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Managing 3rd party relationships with external advisors including tax, payroll and statutory reporting
* All accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, bill payment, prepaid assets, accrued liabilities and bank reconciliations
* Monthly consolidated financial reporting
* Establishing and maintaining internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
* Preparation of business activity reports
* Production of periodic financial reports, complying with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
* Auditing accounts to ensure compliance with regulations and co-ordinating with outside auditors to comply with annual audit requirements
* Provide financial analysis and recommendations to UK leadership and global Finance senior team
What You’ll Bring:
* Proficient in NetSuite and tax preparation software
* Experience with fast paced/dynamic start-up environments
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or similar software
* A management accounting or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential
* Must be in commutable distance from either London or Derby
