Conveniently located in York, Pennsylvania, White Deer Run of York at Mt. Zion is a leading provider of addiction treatment for men age 18 and older. Our 50-bed facility provides space for our team to offer multiple treatment tracks, including medically monitored detoxification services, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term rehabilitation.
White Deer Run of York at Mt. Zion is a premier provider of inpatient detox and rehab services for adult men age 18 and older who are struggling with substance use disorders. Each client can receive comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team of behavioral health and medical professionals that focuses on their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual recovery. We utilize a variety of evidence-based therapies in our program, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice, as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Monitor patient health and administer basic care utilizing the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice in carrying out care plan objectives and goals.
2. Role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety.
3. Collaborate with others to ensure that patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve customer complaints.
4. Provide for the basic comfort of the patient, implementing nursing interventions identified in the plan of care that is individualized to their needs.
5. Apply appropriate interventions to progress the patient towards wellness and address maintenance of wellness.
6. Discuss the care provided with the patient and listen to their concerns. Report status changes and concerns to registered nurses and doctors.
7. Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in the patient's treatment in an effective manner.
8. Provide for the safe delivery of medication in accordance with policies and procedures, physician orders, and/or current practice.
9. Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policy and procedures, other external governing and credentialing bodies, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards.
10. Responsible for thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of the patient's symptoms, responses, and progress.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
2. One or more years of nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
1. Current LPN/LVN license as required by state.
2. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
3. First aid may be required based on state or facility.
