Are you an enthusiastic, dynamic clinical nurse with an interest in Research, wanting to make the next step in your career?
Within research, we currently have a Band 5 position available within the Cancer Research Team based at the QE site.
If you are experienced in Oncology and the delivery of Cancer Therapies, our post could be an exciting opportunity for you to expand your knowledge and skills in the field of research.
In this role, you will be part of a team delivering high-quality research from a range of commercial and academic studies, from complex interventional studies to observational studies. You will develop an in-depth knowledge of trial protocols and research processes, and support the delivery of our expanding research portfolios. You will have the opportunity to further develop interpersonal communication, organization, time management, and documentation skills.
You will administer a range of therapeutic cancer treatments for trials across various disease areas within the oncology field, including but not limited to chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and monoclonal antibody therapies.

Main duties of the job
Essential Criteria for applying for this post:
* Displays genuine interest in the post applied for and can articulate this when questioned
* Registered level 1 Adult Nurse on the NMC register
* Previous/recent experience working in an acute secondary NHS care setting
* Competent in managing the care of a group of patients/shift management and clinical leadership relevant to the practice setting
* Experience of working alone and in a team in a healthcare environment, delegating to others within a team/providing supervision to others
* Competent in a range of clinical skills with a willingness to undertake expanded practices relevant to the scope of practice required
* Evidence of achievements and career development in the current post and of ongoing professional development/competence
* Good IT skills/ability to record information electronically
* Positive and enthusiastic attitude
* Ability to communicate articulately
* Experience working in an Oncology setting
* Experience in delivering Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT trained)

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Level 1 Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
* Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
* Relevant degree or equivalent in nursing
Experience
* Previous/recent experience working in an acute secondary NHS care setting
* Evidence of achievements and career development in the current post and of ongoing professional development/competence
* Experience of working alone and in a team in a healthcare environment, delegating to others within a team/providing supervision to others
* Willingness to become a Mentor or meet Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requirements for mentorship
* Understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct
* Understanding of preceptorship and work-based learning and assimilation of skills and knowledge
* Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context
* Understanding/experience of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity
* Awareness of health and safety issues
* Experience working in an Oncology setting
* Experience in delivering Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT trained)
