An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Clinical Lead Audiologist role working in Auditory Implants within South Tees Audiology and the North East Regional Cochlear Implant Program (NERCIP).
NERCIP and South Tees Audiology is a large service with over 60 staff, proud to deliver high-quality, innovative, and comprehensive NHS Audiology care. The main purpose-built department is located in The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic person with clinical experience in auditory implant services. We are keen to hear from people with advanced assessment skills, including working with adults with learning disabilities and children. This post will involve some managerial responsibilities, including line management.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* BSc Audiology or equivalent
* MSc Audiology or equivalent
* BAA Higher Training Scheme Certificate of Clinical Competence in service area, or equivalent
* Registered as one of the following (or eligible for registration): HCPC as a Clinical Scientist, RCCP as a Clinical Physiologist, AHCS as a Healthcare Scientist
* British Sign language level 1 or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Significant and recent post-qualification experience in Auditory Implants
* Detailed knowledge of manufacturers and devices for auditory implants
* Detailed knowledge of national guidelines for auditory implants and related NICE guidelines
* Detailed technical knowledge of routine and non-routine hearing aids, to include CROS systems and BAHA
* Good level of knowledge of one or more of the specialist areas of adult rehabilitation; tinnitus, hearing therapy, BAHAs, Adults with learning difficulties, dementia care
Experience
* Experience in managing complex and non-routine cases within auditory implants
* Experience in the assessment of patients in the auditory implant pathway of care
* Experience in rehabilitation for complex and non-routine cases
* Significant experience of working in an NHS setting (or equivalent)
* Experience of leading service development
* Experience of initiating audit projects
* Experience of line management
* Experience in working in one or more of the specialist areas of auditory implants

* Excellent communication skills to enable building good rapports with colleagues and patients
