About the Role:
As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who require additional emotional and mental health support. This rewarding position involves:
* Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis.
* Helping to create a safe and nurturing environment.
* Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to promote positive mental health.
* Developing strategies to improve resilience, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning.
Key Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people (school-based or similar settings).
* Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
* An understanding of mental health challenges faced by young people.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
